Biography
Background
Having been born and raised in the Okanagan and having had the luxury of travelling a great many places; however, the Okanagan has always felt like home. My journey into education was not a direct one as it is for many teachers, even though it was the career path my family wanted to go down. After graduating from university (the first time) I realized my degree in Physics and Math wasn't as desirable as I thought it would be. Having not successfully landed a career that summer I enrolled in college to obtain a more practical and desirable education, Business Administration. Upon graduating (for the second time) I landed a very cutting-edge job in the high-tech sector. After many successful years I soon realized that the corporate world wasn't fulfilling my needs of making a difference in the world. It was soon after I had this epiphany I knew it was time to pursue a more rewarding profession, Teaching. After going back to school for the third time and now becoming established in the education community, I can say with out a doubt that this is indeed one of the most rewarding careers I have ever had. I have also recently completed a Master's of Education focusing on Education Reform, Transformative & Inclusive Practices as well as 21st Century Learning and Assessment.
